How are the characters in our main task going to be represented?

What is a stereotype?
This is a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of  particular type of person or thing.
We are using a female as the victim in our main task. This is stereotypical because most horror movies use females as the victims because it would just be too much work to use a man. We are using a female because we want to make it easier for the audience to understand and also to make the audience feel like they know the character and it will give them a simplified image of the character. Our main task is based is on a girl who is lonely and lost her mother so she has been emotionally shaken up by that. This is a great stereotype because in most cases you won't find a man outwardly expressing their emotions whereas women do which makes it seem as if women are emotional, vulnerable and sensitive which is exactly what we want to portray in our main task. Whoever is out to get her was basically meant to be a man at first seeing as men are the ones who are meant to be strong and in most cases they could be categorised as evil and more clever and they always get their victims which is why most horror movies use men as the villains but then we decided to go against the stereotype to use a woman as the person out to get her. This is going to be challenging because most people are obviously going to expect it to be a man who is the evil one because that is how it is in most horror movies. But we are going to find a way to do it. Our inspiration could be The Ring where the villain is a girl named Samara Morgan.
