Originally we were going to read A Kill by Ted Hughes.
Flogged lame with legs
Shot through the head with balled brains
Shot blind with eyes
Nailed down by his own ribs
Strangled just short of his last gasp
By his own windpipe
Clubbed unconscious by his own heart
Seeing his life stab through him, a dream flash
As he drowned in his own blood
Dragged under by the weight of his own guts.
But when we tried it, it didn't really connect with our movie so we decided to change it around and this is what we came up with:
Alone in a graveyard
Waiting for someone long gone
Unaware that I am here
Watching
Soon to be
Clubbed unconscious by her own heart
Strangled just short of her last gasp
Seeing her life drain through her, a dream flash.
In the end we didn't use a voice over for our movie because we thought it didn't really connect with the storyline of our movie so we decided to scrap it.

Suggestions for the title of the movie
We had a lot of different suggestions for the title. Here are some of them.
Confined-this is also a really good title but we not if we are going to use it we could but we don't know.

Trapped-(i came up with this by the way) this would be such a great title for our movie because it just connects with it all the only reason we are having doubts about using it because it seems a bit mainstream and typical of us to use such a title.
Entrapped- this is also a good one to use but it is also a bit typical.

Conceal but it sounded as if it was a make up movie we were doing so that was crossed out from our list.
Buried- we wanted to use this but then there have been a number of movies that have used this title so that messed it up for us a bit although we are still thinking about it.
We also tried other verbs such as
Incarcerate- but this sounded more like you are in prison so it doesn't connect to our movie.
Freedom-we suggested this to make a contradiction to our movie because she is trapped and it would be hard for her to escape so this title could be used to mess with the viewers thinking she is going to be free when she's not.
In the end we decided to use R.I.P as our final title. It has a Gothic ring to it and it is short, catchy and precise. RIP has connotations of death/ graves and etc. But it could also mean a blessing or expression of hope that a deceased person is at peace. May the souls of the recently departed rest in peace. It will appeal to our target audience seeing as the word RIP seems somewhat interesting and a bit sinister.
To make our opening sequence even more interesting, we decided to do handwritten titles in calligraphy which would make our opening sequence even more mysterious.
Below is an example:

Both of these handwritten titles have a Gothic feel to them. The writer(Maria) has been taking lessons on how to write calligraphy and it really has paid off because this will help make our sequence even more interesting.

Advertising our film and inspiration for credits?(poster inspirations)
With any movie, posters are very important for advertisement and these posters could be our inspiration. The one that says Gothic Chamber has a really good font for Gothic horror. The fact that the letter "T" has been turned into a crucifix ties in with the fact that most Gothic horror movies use crucifixes to bring forward the genre and the religion side of it seeing as most Gothic horror movies always have something to do with religion. We could also use a font like that for our credits. We were thinking of using that in our movie to help the audience understand instantly what genre our movie is in.
Roles, Props and Costumes
Roles
Director: Barween
Editors: Maria, Cynthia, Barween and Aaliyah
Camerawoman: Aaliyah
Antagonist Actress: Maria
Ava Van Camp: Cynthia
Props
Shovel
Crucifix
Costumes
Antagonist/Maria: All black outfit with a baseball cap and heavy-duty black boots, preferably Dr. Martens or Caterpillar
Ava Van Camp/Cynthia: Dark colours, sneakers, small amount of make-up, minimal amount of jewellery to avoid reflection, and also to demonstrate that she is not wealthy, this also makes her seem vulnerable and innocent. We decided to make sure that the protagonist's costumes still make her look like a teenager because we want it to appeal to our target audience who are from the age 15- about 20 and we want to make the character connect with them.
